Ornithogalum umbellatum L. (Grass lily, Sleepydick)

Common Name : Grass lily, Sleepydick
Habitat : -
Description : Lateral bulbs exile (offspring) or onion. Flower set the body erect, 10-30 cm. And is usually longer than the body of a set of tapeless flower petals, 2-4 m wide, with the upper surface of the white line, the edges smooth and featherless. Panicle 6-20 flowers. Flower cover segments 15 to 21 mm, the inner side of the white, green on the outside of the generations. Upright stems and wingless fruit capsules.

Ornithogalum genus contain cardiac glycosides. In O. umbellatum rhizomes, cardenolid has been found that at least seven form. Depends to the toxicity of the plant contains the glycoside.
